LETTERS TO THE EDITOR
- February 27, 2007

Dear Editor:

Just in case there is some misunderstanding in regard to passports, please allow me to state that this is a non-partisan issue which crosses all political boundaries. Many of my Conservative colleagues have also voiced their concerns on this matter.

As you know, the Auditor General, Sheila Fraser recently stated that Passport Canada offices had no contingency plans set up to deal with the volume of passport applications. My office receives 30 to 40 phone calls a day from people who need help.

In most cases, the applicant has met all the application requirements including the deadlines. However, according to Passport Canada it now takes an additional 25 working days over and above the standard 20 days to process a passport.

The prolonged processing time is not the issue that needs to be addressed; the crux of the matter is that the residents of BC Interior must have accessible access to a processing passport office without having to travel to Vancouver or Calgary which for most involves an 8 to 10 hour drive through mountain passes.

My staff, as in most MPs offices, are doing all they possibly can to assist those in need. They communicate on a daily basis with the overworked Passport Canada officials trying to obtain the status of applications, have applications transferred back to the applicant or to the Vancouver or Calgary Regional Passport office.

This is no easy task, as in most cases, the applications have been received by Passport Canada, but unfortunately locating the applications proves to be a difficult task due to the thousands of applications they are receiving on a daily basis. This influx of work will not ebb, especially once the US Government institutes that passports will be required for all border crossings including driving.

I and other MPs from all parties are advocating for regional offices to be opened in the BC Interior. This would help alleviate some of the pressure that the Vancouver and Calgary offices are experiencing. It would mean that my constituents would not have to drive to Vancouver to have a passport expedited.

This initiative, which has been supported by my caucus members as well as my Conservative colleagues, is justified. No further explanation is necessary.

BC Southern Interior To The Editor;

The 2,500 Scientists that met in France last week used the Media to announce to the world that Global Warming is caused by man. What they failed to admit is that the scientists and politicians are the guilty men.

Why didn't they stand at the HAARP project in the bushland of Alaska instead of near the Eiffel Tower in Paris?

During the 20th century they have been using the Tesla technology and the patented information from Bernard Eastland to set up a covert military operation for the High-frequency Active Auroral Research project which is a ground-based 'Star Wars' program that is causing the arctic ice to dislodge and melt.

This U.S. Military system sits on 7 acres consisting of antennas of varying heights behind chain link fences with heavy security and began operating in 1994 for the purpose of manipulating the environment in such a way that we have witnessed over the past decade, as to cause:

- Dysfunction of the human mental processes and behaviour of people and animals,

- Jam up all communication systems and capabilities of planes and missiles,

- Change weather patterns over large areas and cause earthquakes and volcanic eruptions,

- Interfere with wildlife migration patterns and behaviour,

- Negatively affect the human's health with the use of drugs and electromagnetic weapons,

- Unnaturally impact the Earth's ozone shield, and change the protective ionosphere layer.

This skybuster targets the electrojet by pumping billions of watts of energy like a river of electricity that flows thousands of miles through the sky and down into the polar ice cap. The electrojet becomes a vibrating artificial antenna for sending electromagnetic radiation that rains down on the earth.

The U.S.Military can then 'X-ray the earth and talk to submarines.' In reference to the new technological weapons, the U.S Secretary of State, William Cohen stated in 1997, "Others are engaging in an eco-type of terrorism whereby they can alter the climate, remotely set off earthquakes and volcanoes through the use of electromagnetic waves."

Jesus warned of the signs of the end times that there would be earthquakes in diverse places. The Wall Street Journal reported that a Malaysian company, BioCur Sdn Bhd would be signing a Memorandum of Understanding with a government owned Russian party to produce the Cyclone 9. There have been other reports of Russian research on climate change. While testifying before the European Parliament in 1998 Dr. Begich indicated that the U.S. would violate the Anti Ballistic Missile Treaty (ABM Treaty) with the former Soviet Union which called for only one defense system in each of the two countries. The U.S. position is that the Soviet Union is dead so the Treaty is also dead.

Ten months later the U.S. announced their new Missile Defense System to be set up outside of the ABM Treaty. So Star Wars is very much alive in Alaska.

Now 'For the Rest of the Story' you need to read the book published in 1995 titled "Angels Don't Play This HAARP Up There." That is when I first learned of this most unreported destructive project when reading in a Washington, DC newspaper about the research done over many years by the co-authors of that book.

Dr. Nicholas Begich lived in Alaska and became an educator, researcher, most eloquent speaker who travels the world informing the leaders of other counties of this secret project. His Doctorate in Traditional Medicine assists him in researching the sciences and politics of the related technology which includes over 400 documents spanning 80 years of technological developments.

Jeanne Manning was a journalist and reporter for a daily newspaper in Vancouver, BC. She lived in Kelowna while researching and writing a book on Zero Point Energy. Like Nich, she has a website.

I have a 2 1/2 hour video presentation by Nich at The Prophecy Club. In his recent book titled "Earth Rising - The Revolution" he has upgraded the information on HAARP, plus it's an expose of technological advances that can reshape the destiny of mankind.

It includes extensive documentation from government, academics and major media reports on mind control, environmental and weather control, militarization of all law enforcement which will eliminate all rights, freedoms and privacy for all by the One World Worlders.

Nich concludes with the solution which could reverse the fear and negative impact on people to that of positive action to protect us from the planned attack on our human spirit so we can be who we were created to be.

He learned through research of the Military approaches to controlling large populations about the 'concept of leaderless revolution.' Those in power try to access and isolate the leadership of a protest movement whereas, a leaderless revolution cannot be stopped because there is no head nor tail. The individuals who express the same concerns and hold similar values in life can be very successful without huge resources.

Nich also explains that there is incredible power in using words and in action. Faith is the actualization of the things we know to be right and true. We must be united in our belief that we are to be good stewards of this planet earth and we must reflect the highest values of the Creator in reclaiming our God-given birthright.

To The Editor;

Your recently published letter from W. & F. Longstaff raises again, not only local, but nationwide concern over the use and regulation of ATV's and dirt bikes.

Their popularity continues to grow and with irresponsible use so does the damage to trails, nature and the peaceful enjoyment of one's property. For motorized vehicles we need provincial regulation - get after the BC government and your MLA.

An obvious first step would require each off-road capable motorized vehicle to have large appropriately placed ID plates. Inappropriate users could then be more easily identified.

The proposed Two Rivers Pathway around Princeton where it passes above John Allison School would be at the base of the hill behind the school on approximately the same route as the existing old road. If the Pathway Society is successful in acquiring private property on the northwest side of the Tulameen River we will, according to our Memorandum of Understanding with the Town and the Regional District, donate the property to them for a park with NO MOTORIZED VEHICLES PERMITTED.

Parks have rules and everyone can expect those rules to be enforced. The core idea behind the Friends of the Princeton Pathway Society is for the quiet enjoyment of our outstanding nearby gifts of history and nature.

With the Pathway in use by walkers, joggers and cyclists there would be more people who would find noise and damage to the ground cover offensive. They would frequently be on the scene and would have a motive to report inappropriate behaviour.

When the Pathway opens my guess is that the noise will soon die out and that with a lovely pathway in the area nearby properties will be even more desirable.

To The Editor,

In the words of David Suzuki, reducing our ecological footprint is the most important thing any of us can do.

In the Similkameen Valley, a victory has been won and a turning point has been forged into our history.

In the 2007 Speech from the Throne, the BC government announced a new climate change strategy which effectively killed coal-fired power in the Similkameen Valley.

On February 14, the Victoria Times Colonist wrote, The speech appeared to spell the death knell for coal-fired electricity projects by saying that, effective immediately, B.C. will become the first jurisdiction in North America to require 100 per cent carbon sequestration for any coal-fired project.

The BC Liberals also promised that all electricity produced in BC will be required to have net zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2016.

Last week, our MLA Harry Lali claimed victory for the Similkameen, stating that, Together, the Similkameen Valley residents and the NDP opposition were able to highlight the destruction of dirty coal plants.

Indeed, the death of coal-fired power in Princeton is a welcome relief and a huge victory.

However, as quick as Harry Lali was to claim credit for himself and the NDP, let us not forget the complete story of coal fired power in Princeton.

As early as 2005, Brad and June Hope, along with other local citizens started raising their concerns about coal fired power generation and coalbed methane projects in the Similkameen Valley, followed by repeated calls from the Green Party of BC and the Green Party of Canada. Together, the issue of the magnitude of the coal plant (then a suspicious 49 MW) was raised, which forced Compliance Energy to delay development by agreeing to a provincial environmental assessment.

However, the battle really didn't get started until Mayor Randy McLean came out swinging against coal power.

Soon, a large group of citizens took on Goliath. This battle started not with Harry Lali and the NDP, who were nowhere to be found at the time and with no particular opinion on coal-fired power.

It was Mayor Randy McLean and Councillor Jim Manion, along with local citizens Brad Hope, John Bosomworth, John Henry, Dan Pippin, Ernie Lawrence, and many more. It was the Friends of the Similkameen and Save Our Similkameen. Not to mention, Keremeos Mayor Walter Despot, the doctors of Princeton, and countless others.

As the Similkameen News Leader pointed out, small towns have loud voices and can make a difference.

So don't be fooled when the NDP and the Liberals claim victory. It was the citizens. It was a Mayor with integrity. It was a community coming together.

On behalf of the Green Party of BC and the Green Party of Canada, congratulations to everyone who worked so hard to change our valley, our province, our country, and our world for the better. Never before have I been more proud to have been born and raised in the most beautiful place in the world, the Similkameen Valley.

Sincerely,
Mike McLean, 2005 Green Party of BC Candidate for Yale-Lillooet
