LETTERS TO THE EDITOR
- August 12, 2008

To The Editor;

No doubt this has happened to each and every one of you - but it won't hurt to read about it anyway...

On Friday (August 1st) I needed a particular food item, so I hied me to one of the many purveyors of comestibles, only to find that it was being offered at two for four dollars.

Well, one would have been enough, but I thought I'd better get two as the offer may not last.

Today found me back there again, and wouldn't you know it, it had gone down to one for two dollars - boy, was I glad! When opportunity knocks, folks.

Later I went to an art gallery where a photographer friend of mine was exhibiting fotos of various backs of hands, among which was that of my own.

Try as I might, I could not put my finger on it. And I came away with the rather disconcerting thought that I did not even know the back of my hand like the back of my hand.

Finally, I did a survey of ten people at random, asking each one what was the uppermost thing on their minds.

Without exception, everyone said that they lie awake at night wondering what in the world should be done about athletes who take performance enhancing drugs!

I know where that's at - I can't perform a darn thing without that first cup of coffee in the morning - after that, I could brush teeth for Canada!

The following is a copy of a letter received by the Princeton Exhibition Association from the Quad Riders ATV Association of BC:

To John Bay;

Please accept our thanks for all the support and help that went into making the Quad Riders ATV Association of BC (ATV/BC) 4th annual Poker Ride 2008 such a success.

Special thanks to Pete, Terry and Carol for all their assistance in organizing all of the Poker Ride 2008 and of course, John for all your support and organizing with us. Just one thing - you owe us dinner, and we will take you up on that!

Many thanks to all the PXA volunteers who took the time to come out to help the PXA with this event.

The event attracted approximately 500 ATV riders and visitors from BC as well as Alberta and our neighbours from Washington State. This makes the location and facilities of the Princeton Fairgrounds very useable, added with the beauty of the Similkameen Valley, it was a great event!

As. Sgt. Gary Macahonic said, we did not have any official contact with his staff nor was there a need for the Search and Rescue or ambulance personnel.

Quad Riders ATV Association of British Columbia (ATV/BC) is the provincial organization promoting environmentally friendly, safe and responsible riding practices.

We hope to see you in 2009 for the 5th Annual Quad Riders ATV Poker Ride
(keep us a date open...)

Sincerely,
Monika Ferguson, Cal Kaytor
Co-Chairs Poker Ride 2008
