Dear George:
Re: Headlines in your October 16, 2007 issue of the News Leader:
1. PXA Concession Problems
2. Few Attend Second Community Forum
3. Police Report
Always good reading, but it would be nice if your headlines would scream at the top of your News Leader Pages: OUR HOSPITALS AND DOCTORS NEED OUR HELP
The hospital can only be as good as the doctors, nurses, lab and x-ray technicians and other staff that work there.
Unfortunately two doctors have left and one or two are thinking of retiring.
That leaves the people of Princeton in a position of possibly not being able to get medical help when needed.
The doctors and nurses that are left, are paying a hell of a price in dedication, in burning themselves out, no family time, no rest.
If they do not get help pretty soon, that means no doctors, no hospital. Then what happens? The doctors of this town have dedicated many years to our health and well being. Now it is our turn to try and help them.
If you care at all about what is left of our health care system here in Princeton, then e-mail the Prime Minister, The Federal Health Minister, the Premier of BC and Provincial Health Minister and members of the Provincial NDP. Here are the names and e-mail addresses of the above mentioned people.
Stephen Harper, Prime Minister of Canada
E-Mail:
pm@pm.gc.ca
Tony Clement, Federal Minister of Health
E-Mail:

Gordon Campbell, BC Premier
E-Mail:
MLA@leg.bc.ca
George Abbott, Provincial Minister of Health
E-Mail:

Harry Lali, Opposition Critic BC Lotteries, Gaming Policy, ICBC
E-Mail:
Harry.Lali.MLA@leg.bc.ca
Adrian Dix, Provincial Critic for Health
E-Mail:
Adrian.Dix.MLA@leg.bc.ca
If all of us do our part, maybe we can get new doctors into our community to give us the excellent health care that our doctors have given us over many years of dedication, maybe then the doctors, nurses, lab and x-ray technicians can get the rest they well deserve.
Every e-mail sent to these minister just might help us.
Yours truly,
- Don & Julie Fleming, Princeton
Dear Editor;
Just a short "Do not read this!" this week.
It is great to hear from all sides that it's not just me thinking that this town needs a facelift. I see people working on their properties, businesses and rentals more than ever since I moved here but it is just not moving fast enough to the two major streets in town where it is needed the most to attract people.
Remember we need money to come into this town to support all of us - that is only possible if we try to make the difference between people coming from Vancouver etc and remembering
'nothing' about us except the kindness of people and gas stations and people remembering
'lots' about us because of our kind and friendly people PLUS a tidy nice town and places to hang out and sit in parks and along the
rivers places where they can just stand in front of some buildings in downtown and take pictures while shopping and the pictures actually turn out great because the town has been painted in some fresh western town colors and decorated all year round with western theme items.
It will be important to get YOUR opinion to the Editor of this paper about how we can achieve this goal fast I think personally that we should just draw a map with all buildings in downtown in our newspapers each week and start coloring each one of them the way the owner likes it.
So it would be a very important first step to see building owners step up and/or tenants of course to see who wants a fresh color we don't need to know right now who is paying for it or how much will it be just who is willing to be part of it.
Let the Editor know please as soon as you can! E-mail: george@thenewsleader.ca.
That way we find out who is thinking similar here and at the same time every week from now that map may become more and more complete and
colorful. That is all for this week I am trying to inspire people to get this town on the map for 'most wanted places to visit' in BC.
And that is exactly what one town councillor said last Monday we all love this town but we have no pride in this town!.....Yet let's change it !!
Thanks for your time!

To The Editor,
Against the will of their people, P.M. Harper wants to extend Canada's military presence in Afghanistan from 2009 to 2011 while his apparent mentor in the U.S.A., President Bush, presents his version of WW3.
Afghan opium will do it every time - just ask Bin Laden.
Are there opium dens also for the public in our Parliament Buildings and in the White House and more importantly are they environmentally friendly?
Regards, Joe Schwarz, Princeton
