LETTERS TO THE EDITOR

To The Editor;

Do you enjoy your work?

I have had the happy privilege in the last few months to be neighbour to a construction project.

As I am out and about with the horses and dogs, I have had many chances to observe this local crew in action.

Hard working and much quieter during the foundation stage, they became livelier as the building went up. I noticed their laughter, happy positive energy, and camaraderie.

There seemed to be no disparaging words.

From the daily fast arrival of Gee with his tunes blasting, to the Cowboys' name being bantered about in jovial fashion, I couldn't help but appreciate that these guys enjoy their work!

The best part was when they finished the roof (between snowstorms) because we then got to listen to their yells from the rooftop and their singing!

And yes, these guys have great voices!

Thank you to Mike and his crew for keeping us so entertained and giving us the inspiring message that some people have fun at their work and make their work fun!

We'll miss you when the house is finished.

RE: Princeton Light-Up

What a success!

One of the most popular questions in our store this week has been: "Why such a huge basket to one winner?"

Congratulations, Anne.

The answer is simple: In early planning stages we were sure we could come up with a basket valued between $400.00 and $600.00. We felt a prize of this size would bring people out.

We had no idea we would have such wonderful town-wide support. It just kept growing and growing right up until the last day.

Talk about Christmas Spirit!

One of my favourite parts of Friday night (December 1st) was having the Princeton Band pop in and give us a bit of live entertainment.

Every evening I take a drive and I am thrilled to see new Christmas lights going up.

Our town is getting prettier by the day.

Thank you one and all for bringing a good old-fashioned Christmas to Princeton!

"Tulameen is Tops"

Our family would just like to send an enormous thank you to the people of Tulameen and Princeton, for helping us have an absolutely awesome year here on exchange in Canada.

Arriving here on a bleak cold winter's night, (and having travelled the Tulameen road for the first time!) we really started to wonder if we had made the correct decision, to come to this little part of the world! Only hours after settling into the Brewers home, we received our first 'Pot Luck' invite.

Even though we had no idea what a pot luck was, we went, and honestly haven't looked back since. Jim Michaud told us on that night that we had just come to the friendliest little town in BC and we would be treated to a year to remember! He was 100% spot on!!

The people out here have gone out of their way to include us in some memorable events, from sledding, hiking and wildlife spotting, to water skiing and ice fishing (well standing on the ice with a line). We were shown how a small community can pull together, with the 'Boobie Ball' and Snow Golf, and how they can Party during Tulameen Days!!!

To all in Princeton, and the staff and students at John Allison, Vermillion and PSS, thanks for making the school experience such an enjoyable and busy one, the girls have now made life long friends, and will be extremely sad to say farewell. (the e-mails will run hot in the years ahead!)

Unfortunately all good things must come to an end, and it will be a very sad day this Saturday, when we have to say goodbye to our second home, and our new family - the 'Tulameen Family' - Thank you from the bottom of our hearts, we had a BLAST!
