Rachel Halipchuk won a Silver Medal with her project titled, "Where Does Snow Go?"
Jessica Dennis earned a Bronze Medal with her project on "Spider Plants" and Skylar DaPonte's examination of ³Metabolism² also earned a Bronze Medal.
DOES YOUR CLUB NEED MONEY?
Opportunity is knocking for local non-profit organizations. There will be a major music festival during Racing Days weekend, and organizers are looking for vendors to sell finger foods such as hot dogs, doughnuts, and so on.
There are three reunions, races, and the music festival going on at the same time. The annual Rotary Racing Days parade will take place, and there will be a big dance at the arena. A cowboy poetry contest is in the works. Motels and campgrounds are being booked now, so organizers know there will be a lot of people in town.
The Sounds of Our Heritage Music Festival is on the web with links to a number of sites. Out of town interests from B.C., Canada and the U.S. have indicated plans to attend and participate.
Three venues will run concurrently all weekend and there will be musical entertainment in restaurants as well as out on the street. Street vendors will be needed.
The music festival will provide entertainment at the fairgrounds between the race events and following the last race on Friday, June 29. The music festival will be in restaurants that evening. On Saturday, the music festival is downtown, and then shifts to the arena for the dance and into restaurants. The Blackbirds are headlining dance music, backed up by a local
band.
On Sunday, the music festival is downtown, and the musicians end their weekend with a jam session at Princeton Castle Resort.
If you, or your organization, are interested in providing snack foods and drinks during the street portion of the festival, contact Ed Muckle at Image Emporium, 221 Bridge Street, or call 295-7755.
