Fall Fair members will take a break until January 29, 2008, following the election of a new Board of Directors. The annual general meeting for 2007 was held at Town Hall on November 27, with Councillor Jim Manion conducting the election.

Linda Allison returned as President, with Lyn Melnechenko as Vice-President, Ruby Bey as Treasurer and J.D. Howell as Secretary. President Allison thanked everyone for all the work they had done during the year, and particularly for having put on such a good fair.

The financial statements were reviewed. The overall income and expenses for the fair showed a very small profit, but the actual fair showed a really big increase in attendance.

Councillor Jim Manion praised the Fair Board for having done so well in 2007.

There was a good turnout to the meeting with 19 present. Talk turned rapidly to next year's fair and what entertainments might be pursued.

Lawn mower racing was at the top of the list. Manion suggested issuing a challenge to local men to get out there and race.

Grant opportunities were suggested. The Fair Board would love to build a good stage for entertainers. April Earle said she would like to look after children's entertainment again.

An entertainment committee was formed comprised of April Earle, Lyn Melnechenko, Dawne Graves and Patty Harrower.

Ruby Bey and Dawn Johnson will take care of publicity and advertising. April Earle and Dawne Graves will form a committee to produce the next Fall Fair prize list booklet.

Making sure kids know they can enter their art, crafts, baking and produce into the Junior Fair was discussed.

Schools will be approached to see whether there could be some way of putting the information in the schools before school closes for the summer.

The meeting ended with wishes all round for a happy holiday season.
