POSSE TAKES THREE OF SIX POINTS

Princeton Posse hosted three home games in the past week and if it wasnıt for an overtime loss - worth one point in the KIJHL - the team would have had only two points to show for their effort.

The first game, a mid-week match against Summerland Sting attracted a dismal crowd.

The Posse played a great game opening the scoring at 9:09 when Seth Armitage, who was in front of the net, one-timed a pass from the corner right through the legs of the Sting goalie, who was on his knees at the time. Assists went to Chad Hohmann and Mike Salter.

Princeton scored once more less than a minute later when Brad Davis took a corner pass from Dave Wyman and popped it into the top corner as he was falling to the ice surface. The shorthanded goal was a piece of magic and put the home team up by a score of two to zip after one period.

The second frame saw Summerland score their first goal at 3:44 but Princeton bounced back with a power play goal at 6:57. Jessie Tresierra got the marker with help from Seth Armitage. Princeton kept putting pressure on the Summerland net and following a number of shots on goal Brad Davis flipped a wrist shot into the top of the goal for Princetonıs fourth goal at 17:35. Assists on that power play goal went to Dave Wyman and Sam Penny.

Princeton finished the period with a 5 to 1 lead after Chad Hohmann fired one past the Sting goalie with 21.0 seconds left in the period. Assists were given to Cody Devitt and Adam Coates.

It looked as if Princeton owned this game until the third period. Summerland shot out of the dressing room and scored three fast goals at 2:18, 10:31 and 11:31. The Sting tied the game at 5-all at 14:00. It was as if Princeton fell apart and couldnıt get back together. The boys made numerous attempts to get the lead back, but could not and the game ended at a tie.

Summerland only needed 13-seconds in overtime to seal the victory.

Final score: Summerland 6, Princeton 5. Shots on goal: Summerland 30, Princeton 28.

Princeton played host to Sicamous Eagles on Friday night, which attracted another dismal crowd. The Eagles fired their first goal into the stats sheet at 3:33 but Princeton held it together and Micah Anderson reacted to a short rebound in congestion in front of the Sicamous goal scoring Princeton's first marker.

Assists went to Jeremy Wagner and Mike Salter.

Sicamous was all over the Posse net and goalie Greg Sentes played an amazing game, but the Eagles kept digging at rebound after rebound. Finally they got Goal #2 at 11:38 while Sentes was on his back fighting the barrage of shots coming at him.

The Eagles added another goal at 12:30 in much the same manner as the previous one to finish the first period with a 3 to 1 lead.

Sicamous took complete control in the second period and scored three more unanswered goals at 5:54, 16:46 and 19:25 to bring their lead to 6 to 1 after two.

The Eagles added one more at 3:54 of the third period, but then Princeton came alive. The boys started to regain control over the ice surface and scored one 5:10 into the period, which was disallowed although witnesses saw the puck wiggle into the net off the Sicamous goaltenders skates before the whistle was blown to stop the play.

This seemed to fire up the Posse and at 6:21 Mike Salter scored a power play goal with help from Jeremy Wagner and Shawn Carr.

Princeton added one more power play goal at 14:49 with Sam Penny taking the points. Assists went to Brad Davis and Conner McGarry, but by then it was not enough to bring the game any closer.

Final score: Sicamous 7, Princeton 3. Shots on goal: Sicamous 35, Princeton 25.

Saturday nightıs game saw Princeton up against probably the dirtiest team in the league, the Kimberly Dynamiters.

From the opening face off it was obvious there was a different Posse on the ice. Plays were solid and shots on goal were mostly one-timers without a lot of set up, which proved to be beneficial.

Princeton scored first at 5:17 with a power play goal by Jeremy Wagner. Assists went to Seth Armitage and Adam Coates.

Princetonıs second goal, only seconds later at 5:37, looked like a fluke ricochet off the skater of a player in front of the Kimberly net. Brad Davis got the credit with help from Mike Salter and Dave Wyman.

Kimberly added one goal at 11:56 and the period ended with Princeton leading 2 to 1.

The second period saw Princeton add another power play goal at 3:25 with Micah Anderson getting the points with assists from Conner McGarry and Adam Coates.

Kimberly somehow managed to score two goals at 5:59 and 10:30 while just generally messing around with Posse players on ice. The high jinx did draw a number of penalties but the last minute of play probably best defined the shoddy play of the visiting team.

With 37.8 seconds left a Dynamiter cross checked Princetonıs Mike Salter at centre ice near the players boxes. Then the player hit Salter again with his stick when the Posse player was still face down. This act drew lots of noise from the crowd and the officials delayed play for some time as they tried to sort out the mess.

Then with only 11.7 seconds to play, Princeton pulled goalie Brad Fraser for an extra man. As Fraser skated past the Kimberly bench a player clothslined him from the box.

Penalties for slashing and goalie interference were assessed putting Princeton into a 5 on 3 situation in the dying seconds of the period. After two the game was tied at 3 apiece.

The third period saw Princeton come out stronger than the previous 20-minutes and they made good use of the two-man advantage, which went for the first 4:22 of the period.

The Posse got their go ahead goal at 3:48 from Micah Anderson. Assists went to Sam Penny and Adam Coates.

Kimberly managed to burn off the remaining time in both of their penalties and Princeton kept putting pressure on everything the Dynamiters threw at them. The last 5-minutes of the period saw Princeton taking players out of plays with clean hits that appeared to upset the Kimberly bench.

The game ended with Kimberlyıs coach earning a match penalty for getting lippy.

Final score: Princeton 4, Kimberly 3. Shots on goal: Kimberly 35, Princeton 28. Penalties in minutes: Kimberly 66, Princeton 20.
