POSSE NARROWLY MISSES WIN

Friday night game

The Valley First Princeton Posse hosted Kamloops Storm in a mid-week game last Wednesday night (January 17th).

Princeton pressured the Storm net throughout the first period, recording 14 shots on goal to the Storm's four, but could not get the puck past netminder Anthony Manfred.

Play was fast and solid and the period ended scoreless.

The second period saw much the same activity although both teams managed seven shots on goal.

As the second period neared an end, Princeton's Alex Young popped in a quick goal with 14.5-seconds left.

Assists went to Mike Bunting and Jeremy Wagner.

The third period saw a slightly slower Posse continue to pressure the Kamloops goal until 5:24. That's when the Storm tied the game with a goal that clanged off the crossbar and down into the Posse net.

Kamloops got their go ahead goal at 13:50 and despite a tremendous effort on ice, Princeton could not tie it up.

Very few penalties were called throughout the game which saw two very mature teams battle it out playing the game of hockey.

Final score: Kamloops 2, Princeton 1. Shots on goal: Princeton 28, Kamloops 21.
