A TEAM WITH HEART - PRINCETON POSSE
The New Beginnings group invited the Posse team to join them on Valentine's Day to receive recognition for their success this season and to share in the Valentine festivities.
Throughout the hockey season, a number of the group are avid Posse fans. They attend games, cheer when they win, applaud should they lose, participate in fund raising events, wear Posse shirts, and refer to the team in the most positive manner.
They 'ride with the Posse' throughout the season! Some of them are dedicated volunteers and are very proud of their contributions to the Posse organization.
One of our primary goals as an organization is to support the integration of persons with disabilities into the community, facilitate their inclusion in community events and teach by example the concept of 'ability versus disability.'
Our community is very responsive and the Posse organization was no exception. The interaction between the Posse team and the New Beginnings group was inspiring.
These young men displayed great poise, maturity, ease and enthusiasm in their interactions with their fans' throughout the year and showed up in full force on Valentine's morning.
Their hockey skills are impressive and we all wish them well as they pursue their dreams of successful sports careers. However, from our perspective, their greatest accomplishments were in the areas of kindness, compassion, understanding and acceptance, in the belief that all people are equal and everyone has a contribution to make.
The unconditional respect they have shown to the people we serve and their willingness to acknowledge the contribution they make as fans and volunteers is heartwarming. They are young men with character and integrity, traits that will serve them well as they make their way in the world.
We wish them well on their journey and thank them sincerely for taking the time to make a difference in so many lives during their time in Princeton.
You will be remembered!
