MINOR FOOTBALL LEAGUE FORMING

winners of the Raffle

Jason Earle of Princeton is in the process of forming the Princeton & District Minor Football League.

The league is open to players between the ages of 6 and 18 and if there is enough interest from Princeton, Hedley and Keremeos Earle will develop a practice and game schedule.

The age groups are broken up into a number of different categories of play.

Players aged 6 to 7 will play Flag Football only, with all other ages in contact football as follows: Atoms (8 to 9 year olds), Pee Wee (9 to 10 year olds), Junior Bantam (11 to 12 year olds), Bantam (13 to 15 year olds) and Midgets (16 to 18 year olds).

Earle says the league is open to both boys and girls and he is excited about introducing this sport to the Similkameen.

He has not planned the first meeting yet, but will have one within the next couple of weeks, which will be announced in the Similkameen News Leader.

MAC LIND PEE WEES FINISH 4th

- submitted by Coach Kevin Williams
It was an entertaining Sunday afternoon when Mac Lind peewees went head to head against the highflying Penticton team.

This game was for the 'B' banner and was truly an exciting game to watch. In the past three meetings the Penticton team won all three games but Princeton was ready to change all that. With some players missing Princeton called up Drayden Larson from the Atoms to help fill the roster.

Princeton scored the opening goal on hard work from Brady Johnson and Clayton Obee to get the puck to Drayden who scored his first goal as a Peewee. Penticton was not to be denied scoring twice in one minute to take a one-goal lead.

Brady Johnson scored his first to tie the game at 2. Justin Milligan gave Princeton the lead when he took a nice pass from Colby Williams, walked in and roofed it. Colby then scored on a rebound off a hard low shot of Taylor's giving us a 2-goal lead.

Penticton would not be denied and scored three of their own to end the second period 1 goal up. After the ice was cleaned, Princeton came out flying out shooting Penticton but just could not buy a goal. With one goal in the first being waved off then another in the third Princeton worked furiously to get the tying goal.

Penticton's number 7 scores twice in the third his fifth of the game to put Princeton down by three. Justin Milligan scored his second of the game but that was end of the scoring and Princeton just could not manage to get the tying goal.

All the coaches were very proud of how the team played and never gave up even when they got behind, although the players were disappointed they should be proud of what they accomplished finishing fourth out of eleven teams.

They now have their home tournament March 17th weekend and then their season will be done. Great job team and a great effort. Points for the game went to Justin 2 goals, 1 assist, Colby 1 goal 2 assists, Brady 1 goal 1 assist, Drayden 1 goal 1 assist, Clayton 2 assists, and Kraig and Taylor each with an assist.
