42nd CHOPAKA RODEO RESULTS

Vincent Disautel rides Ocean Side

The 42nd annual Easter Sunday Chopaka Jackpot Rodeo is now in the history books. With a perfect sunny day accompanied by gentle breezes, you couldn't ask for better weather in the rustic Lower Similkameen setting.

In Team Roping the pair of Jackson Louis and Leo Louis took first with the amazing time of 5.89 seconds. Leo Louis also took second place with partner Cecil Louis with 6.34. Third place went to Tony Verbeeten and Josh Ellis (6.85-seconds). The only Princeton teams to score were Terry Wright and Ed Nault (7.55) and Mac Lind with Stan Thompson (21.70).

There were no scores recorded in the Bareback event.

Steve Pozzobon took Calf Roping with a time of 15.43 seconds. Jarret Dais was second (27.76) and Colter McLean finished third (28.56).

Princeton's Aimee Willis won Ladies Barrel Racing with a time of 16.25 seconds. Marlo Fosbery was second (17.02) and Sheryl Spencer third (17.32). Former Princeton cowgirl Darcy Willis finished with 21.48-seconds.

Falon Fosbery took Junior Barrels with a 18.13. Second went to Angelica Dais with 18.36 and Jorgana Keller was third with 18.47. Christa Kay won Ladies Breakaway with a time of 4.27 seconds. Leanne Niddery finished second with 9.78.

Devon Richter won Saddle Bronc with a 79 aboard Mesquite. Elton Blanchard was second with 69 and Harp Qualtier finished third with 57.

It was 8 to 1 for the bulls in Bullriding.Wade Marchand was the only cowboy to reach the 8-second mark and scored 76 on a bull named Bert.

The next Similkameen Valley Rodeos are Princeton's CPRA event Mother's Day weekend (Bull-A-Rama the Friday night, Rodeo both Saturday and Sunday) and the Keremeos Elks BCRA event on the May long weekend.
