RODEO CLUB RELEASES SCHEDULE
A schedule of events for the upcoming 5th annual CPRA Princeton Pro Rodeo has been released. Activities will begin on Friday, May 12th when Rodeo Clown Dennis Halstead will visit John Allison Elementary in the afternoon.
Halstead has toured local schools for the past few years to entertain students and teachers and to promote the rodeo.
At 4:30 PM the Princeton Rodeo Ambassador Competition will take place. A total of four young ladies are competing. Meagan Thomas, Kim Kozac, Amanda Buhler and Chloe Littlejohn will demonstrate their horsemanship, followed by speeches.
The main event will begin at 5:30 PM with the BCPB Similco Bull-A-Rama at Princeton Fairgrounds. A total of between 30 and 40 bull riders will be competing.
Saturday, May 13th will begin with a Kids Rodeo at 12 Noon. At press time there were three confirmed events, stick horse barrel racing, dummy roping and dummy calf roping. Professional cowboys and cowgirls will be in attendance providing assistance and demonstrations related to the events.
Organizers state that although some of the events in the Kids Rodeo may not be suitable for all ages, they are encouraging all children to come out and participate.
The main event starts at 1:30 PM with the CPRA Princeton Pro Rodeo. The Grand Entry will highlight local cowgirls.
There will be slack following the performance and the evening will include a Rodeo Dance at Princeton Arena. Ken McCoy is the featured performer with the event set to start at 8:30 PM. Tickets are $10.00 each at the door and no minors are permitted.
Sunday, May 14th will begin with another Kids Rodeo starting at 12 Noon at Princeton Fairgrounds followed by the second performance of the CPRA Princeton Pro Rodeo at 1:30 PM.
