2009 KEREMEOS ELKS RODEO RESULTS
Here is the unofficial list of Keremeos Elks BCRA Rodeo Daily Leaders for Saturday, May 16th.
In the first section of Bareback Riding there were only two scoring rides. Steve Hohmann of Quesnel, BC was first with 74 points followed by Kelvin Lahue of Williams Lake, BC with 68 points.
In Saddle Bronc Riding the only cowboy to score was Steve Hohmann of Quesnel, BC with 76 points on 77 Party Time.
There were no qualifying rides in the Steer Wrestling event.
In Breakaway Roping the only cowgirl to get on the leader board was Kirsty DeRose of 150 Mile House, BC with a time of 3.7-seconds.
In the second section of Bareback Riding Steve Hohmann of Quesnel, BC was the only one to score with 72 points riding A20.
In Saddle Bronc Riding - second section - Steve Hohmann of Quesnel, BC led the pack with 76 points riding 216 Broken Promises. Devin Richter of Omak, WA was second with 71 points and third went to Danny Bruckman of Kamloops with a 62.
In Ladies Barrel Racing Shauna Beeman of Omak, WA finished first with a time of 18.453-seconds. Brady Denner of 150 Mile House, BC was second with 18.720-seconds and Tamara Oram of Kelowna, BC was third with 18.927-seconds.
In Junior Barrel Racing Delanie Thorlakson of Armstrong, BC was first with 18.799-seconds with Paige Gill of Keremeos, BC finishing second with 21.704-seconds.
In Local Novice Barrel Racing Tonessaha Stukel of Kaleden was first with 20.315 seconds and Sieria Stukel was second with 21.789-seconds.
In Team Roping Troy Fischer (Mayerthorpe, AB) and Brett McCarroll (Camrose, AB) finished first with a time of 5.5-seconds. Justin and Brett McCarroll (both of Camrose, AB) were second with 5.7-seconds and Josh Cahill (Clinton, BC) and Rod Spiers (Arras, BC) finished third with 7.1-seconds.
In Bull Riding none of the nine registered riders scored a qualifying ride.

In Ladies Barrel Racing Melanie Beeton (Prince George, BC) and Christine Ross (Botha, BC) tied for first with times of 18.375-seconds. Kim Meise (Prince George, BC) was second with 18.853-seconds.In Tie-Down Roping only one cowboy managed to get on the scoreboard. It was Will Casey of Mesa, WA with a time of 25.7-seconds. In Bareback Riding (1st Section) the only rider to score any points was Matt Bates of Kamloops, BC with 77 points on Death Trap.
In Tie-Down Roping Willee Twan of Alkali Lake, BC took first place with a time of 15.3-seconds. Darrel Diebel of Okanogan, WA was second with 16.4-seconds and Virgil Poffenroth of Riske Creek, BC finished third with 17.9-seconds.
In Saddle Bronc Riding (1st Section) Rod Rimmer of Victoria, BC was the only cowboy to get on the scoreboard with 69 points riding 280 Black Lace.
In Steer Wrestling only one cowboy had a qualifying time. It was Willee Twan of Alkali Lake, BC with 5.6-seconds.
In Bareback Riding (2nd Section) Matt Bates of Kamloops, BC took first place with 80 points riding P39 Bubbaganoosh.
In Saddle Bronc Riding (2nd Section) Rod Rimmer of Victoria, BC was first with 73 points riding 216 Broken Promises.
In Breakaway Roping Nik Smith of Peachland, BC was first with a time of 4.3-seconds with Montana Madill of Courtenay, BC second with 4.7-seconds.
In Junior Steer Riding Nik Smith of Peachland was first with 76 points. Caleb McMillan was second with 74 points.
In Ladies Barrel Racing Coleen Duggan of Cache Creek, BC took first place with a time of 17.650-seconds. Monica Oram of Logan Lake, BC was second with 18.014-seconds and Laura James of Vanderhoof, BC was third with a time of 18.085-seconds.
In Junior Barrel Racing Angelica Dias of Penticton, BC was first with 18.963-seconds. Keira Smith of Peachland, BC was second with 19.821-seconds.
In Local Novice Barrel Racing Dori Watts of Kaleden, BC was first with a time of 18.845-seconds. Bea Surenan of Naramata, BC was second with 18.863-seconds. Breanne Watson of Keremeos, BC was third with 19.344-seconds.
In Team Roping Cecil and Bobby Louis of Vernon, BC finished first with a time of 14.2-seconds. David Hamming (Vernon, BC) and Jordan Dinwoodie (Enderby, BC) were second with 18.9-seconds.
In bull riding only one contestant had a qualifying ride and it was Morgan Dilts of Eureka, Montana who scored 81 points. The bull he drew was BL Storm Warning, a bull from the Princeton, BC ranch of Brian Rutherford.
Following Sunday's performance attention shifted to Memorial Park in downtown Keremeos for the annual steak barbeque hosted by the Keremeos Stockbreeders Association.
