RIDERS ENJOY OUTING
On Wednesday May 23rd, Similkameen Valley Riders ATV Club were off on another ride. Under the direction of our ride co-coordinators, Jim leading, Gordon in the middle and Bruce taking up the rear, eleven riders were off on another ride.
We went up the China Creek Road and onto the marked quad trail. Fields of yellow daisies and wild tulips were in abundance and could be seen all over the hillsides. We had many rest stops and one had us on top of Pike Mountain overlooking the highway to Aspen Grove. We were on top of the world.
A short detour off the trail had us at Kump Lake Recreation Site for lunch. With our bellies full, we were off again. We rode through meadows and over mountains. We rode by many beautiful lakes with Forestry Recreation Sites at them. We viewed snowcapped mountains, deer grazing not paying any attention to our machines and saw cattle open grazing.
The momma cows were keeping a close eye on their young ones as we rode by. We were north of Tulameen and it was time to head home. We got onto the KVR Trail and rode into Tulameen for a rest stop. Off again on the KVR TrailSpast CoalmontSup and over to the China Ridge trailsSacross China Creek and back to where we started.
At the end of the day, we all agreed it was a good ride. We were tired and dusty, but we didn't care. Thank you to our guides for a safe, fun ride.
