POSSE PLAYERS MOVE UP THE RANKS

Former Princeton Posse player Cody Devitt has signed his first professional hockey contract with the Rocky Mountain Rage of the Central Hockey League. The Rage is based out of Broomfield, Colorado, located 20 kilometres south of Boulder. The CHL has teams in Texas, Louisiana, Oklahoma, Ohio and Colorado.

Devitt played for the Posse for the entire 2004/05 season and split time between the Posse and British Columbia Hockey League (BCHL) during the 2005/06 season. During his 71 games with the Posse, Devitt scored 11 goals, collected 27 assists and 610 penalty minutes. He played last season with the Yorkton Terriers of the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League (SJHL) where he won the Mr. Personality Award.

Last year's team captain and three year Princeton Posse veteran Mike Salter has signed with the Estevan Bruins of the SJHL. The 2006/07 season was Salter's most productive where he scored 12 goals, added 24 assists and finished third in team scoring.

During his three years in Princeton, Salter won many awards including Most Improved Player in the 2005/06 season and finished with the Most Valuable Player and Fan Favourite Awards last season.

Last year's assistant captain and two year Posse veteran Jeremy Wagner has also signed with the Estevan Bruins of the SJHL. In his two years with the Posse, Wagner scored 30 goals and added 35 assists. Wagner finished second in overall scoring last season.

"Jeremy is a top quality person and his leadership will be hard to replace this season," says Posse Assistant Coach Kevin Robillard.

Spencer Brooks who played defense last season with the Posse has also signed with the Estevan Bruins of the SJHL. Brooks played one full season with Princeton and jumps to Junior A hockey to join former Posse teammates Mike Salter and Jeremy Wagner.

Former Posse forward (2006/07 season) Michael Bunting has signed with the Notre Dame Hounds of the SJHL.

"Mike was a physical presence for the Posse and re-joins his minor hockey program at the Junior A level," Robillard says.

Bunting played 26 games with Princeton where he scored four goals and added 12 assists.

Last season's goaltender Evan Karambelas has signed with the Powell River Kings of the BCHL. Karambelas was affiliated with the Kings last season and started one game for the Junior A team.

"Evan was selected to the 2006/07 Top Prospects All-Star team for his solid play and technical skill," says Robillard.
