CLUB PREPARES FOR NEW SEASON
Skating season is upon us and the Princeton Skating Club is excited about the upcoming season!
We invite anyone interested in learning to skate, improving their skating skills, or developing figure skating skills to register for this upcoming season.
The executive has been working all summer to secure professional skating coaches, develop new programs and improve existing programs.
We are pleased to announce the return of Head Club Coach Ken Babington. Ken is certified by the International Skating Union and has skated both competitively and professionally, and he has coached professionally in the United Kingdom, the United States and Canada for over 30 years.
We are pleased to offer our Skate Canada Learn to Skate program for skaters from Ages 4 and up. The 'Canskate' program has been revamped for this skating season with a fun 'centres' approach to teaching skating fundamentals.
Canskate lessons are every Monday and Wednesday from 3:30 to 4:30 PM.
We are very excited to offer 'CanPowerskate' lessons to those skaters looking to improve their speed and efficiency on the ice, and this program is particularly useful for those skaters seeking to improve their skating skills for hockey.
Coach Babington is a certified Powerskate Coach and has worked with leaders in this skating discipline. There are two sessions planned for Powerskate on Wednesdays from 4:30 to 5:30 PM and Fridays from 5:00 to 6:00 PM. These are two separate sessions which will be divided based on skill level.
Finally, for those interested in the sport of figure skating, we are very excited to offer the 'Starskate' program involving dance, skills and freeskate disciplines. We extend an invitation to returning figure skaters as well as those wishing to learn this beautiful sport. Even if you have been out of the sport for a few years and have been missing those lessons, you won't be disappointed with Coach Babington's knowledge and efficient instruction.
Starskate programs are held Mondays from 4:30 to 7:30 PM, Wednesdays from 5:30 to 7:30 PM and Fridays from 3:30 to 5:00 PM. We have a new jumping harness installed which will add a new dimension of fun and jumping skill development for our figure skaters.
Join us again for our most exciting season yet! Our theme for our Annual Skating Carnival is 'Blades Over Broadway' featuring some of the most memorable Broadway shows.
Registration will be held at the Princeton Arena on Wednesday, September 12th from 6:30 to 8:00 PM.
For further information or to register over the phone, call either of the following executive members: President Donna Kostiuk at 295-0206 or Treasurer Wanda Marshall at 295-3319.

The Town of Princeton recently presented the Kokanee Summer Swim Club with funds from the Princeton Forest Corporation which were used to purchase new swim equipment and upgrade existing equipment which aided the club in reaching it's goals this swim season.
