POSSE REMAINS ON BOTTOM

The hot and cold Princeton Posse hosted Revelstoke Grizzlies last Friday night at Princeton Arena.

It didn't take long to see the Posse was hurting. Don't get us wrong, they played an alright game, but they have played better.

Revelstoke scored first at 9:40 with a shot that slid along the ice and into the bottom corner of the Posse net while goalie Evan Karambelas was on his knees. He had just finished fighting off a series of shots on goal and eventually got beat by the Grizzly pressure in front of the net.

Princeton did return the favour at 12:20 when Posse players basically did the same thing at the Revelstoke goal.

Sean Carr was given credit with assists going to Michael Bunting and Anthony Leardo.

Revelstoke added one more with 2:04 left in the period when Revelstoke's Casey Patterson when in alone from the blue line and fired a shot between Karambelas' knees.

The second period saw a Revelstoke goal disallowed 1:21 into the frame due to goalie interference.

A combination of bad and missed calls during the period prompted a series of comments from the crowd with our favourite of the night being "Hey Ref, have you ever watched hockey?"

Revelstoke added their third goal of the match at 4:56 when a missile of a shot was fired on goal from the top of the face off circle and Karambelas couldn't reach far enough on the glove side to stop it.

Princeton did come back at 6:13 when Alex Young took a pass from Bryan Smith and fired it in front of the net from the corner. Peter Purves was in position and slapped it between the legs of the Grizzly netminder.

By mid-period smoke from the guns that fire each time Princeton scores started to hang in the building and could have lead to an interference call, but that didn't happen.

In the final period Princeton tied the game at 3-all at 4:46 when Michael Bunting fired a wrist shot high on the glove side. Mike Salter took an assist on the play.

Revelstoke got their go ahead goal at 6:21 and although Princeton pulled their goalie in the last minute of play, the could not tie it up.

Final score: Revelstoke 4, Princeton 3. Shots on goal: Revelstoke 36, Princeton 27.
