STORM POUNDED BY POSSE
Although the newly dubbed Valley First Princeton Posse did not beat Kamloops Storm last Friday night in Princeton Arena, they at least let the Thompson Valley team know the boys in the Similkameen are tough.
The scene was set at a recent game in Kamloops where Princeton's team was called Opussies' in a Storm program.
This generated letters of complaint from the Posse Coaching Staff to both the Storm and KIJHL Officials.
It was obvious the apology from Kamloops GM Barry Dewar did nothing more than to fire up the Valley First Princeton Posse.
Princeton scored first in Friday night's match at 7:26. Sean Carr got the goal off a pass from Mike Salter.
Kamloops tied the match on the power play with 2:49 left.
The second period saw Kamloops score twice more before Princeton managed a shorthanded reply.
Dan Hillman got the goal with Peter Purves receiving the assist.
Kamloops added one more with 40-seconds left to finish the period leading 4 to 2.
The third period was a high-spirited 20-minutes that saw Princeton's Alex Young fire one in only 10-seconds into the frame. Assists went to Kyle L'Arrivee and Mike Bunting.
Kamloops added another goal at 6:23 and Princeton's Brandon Spiller added a goal of his own less than a minute later. Assists went to Liam Darragh and Drew Knowles.
Kamloops scored once more with 2:45 left.
The final minute of play saw the Storm's Jacob Young and Princeton's Jordan Lane beat on each other and unsportsmanlike conduct penalties handed out to three other players once time had expired.
