MINOR HOCKEY WRAPS UP 04/05 SEASON
Years of hard work has put the Princeton Minor Hockey Association (PMHA) into a strong financial position, as was revealed at the groups annual general meeting on April 13th.
With a total profit for the year close to $10,000 PMHA has a lot to be proud of.
"We have some money set aside so we donıt have to go knocking on doors," explained Treasurer Jeanie Williams.
"Many years of fundraising and hard work has put our bank account where it should be."
Tournament hosting helped a great deal over the past season with financially successful Novice, Midget and Atom events.
"It has been a successful year," PMHA President Neil Guardiero said.
"We have set a two year goal to try to raise our membership numbers."
The group is doing this by lowing Tykes fees and reducing fees for new players joining the Association.
"We hope to increase the number of players in our association. This initiative will be especially significant, if the arena gets itıs expansion grant and our facilities become upgraded."
Each report made during the meeting contained a reoccurring theme: how successful the season was and how well the members of the executive worked with each other.
The sense of unity was present throughout the meeting and extended into the Election of Officers for the 2005/06 season.
Neil Guardiero was returned to the Presidentıs Chair, as was Vice President Jason Earle. Gordon Bibby will stay on as Secretary with Dave Palumbo taking over Risk Management from Daryl Clarke, Ty French replaces Derek Lilly as Head Coach and Clint Clifton replaces Marvin Tremblay as Head Referee. Kris Coyne continues as Ice Ambassador with Linda Thompson returning as Registrar.
Jeanie Williams will continue as Treasurer, with Susy Johnson adding Promoter to her Fundraising duties.
Richard Larson becomes Equipment Manager and Holly Fenrick replaces Janice Thurber as Tournament Director.
Danelle Leochko will continue to act as Concession Coordinator.
PMHA President Neil Guardiero summed up his season in a single statement in his annual report.
"It has been a pleasure being President and I hope that you, the membership, feel that the executive and I have performed our duties completely with the best interest of the kids in mind."
