THE RETURN OF RACING WORTH THE BET
The 37th running of Princeton Racing Days saw a total of seven races Thursday night at Sunflower Downs.
A crowd of close to two-thousand filled the Princeton Fairgrounds and were treated to some fantastic races.
The first race, 5 1/2 furlongs, saw Mount Baker take the win with Fort Langley second and Regio third.
The Exactor paid $163.00, the Quinella $31.50 and Triactor returned $70.20.
The second race (5 1/2 furlongs) saw Shešs Shameless finish first with Blaze On Ice and Feu Kan Promise second and third. The winner, bred by local Brian Kozak, paid $11.40 to Win, $3.40 Place and $3.00 Show. The Quinella was worth $112.70.
Race #3 (5 1/2 furlongs) ended with Daisy Daisy (bred by local Brian Anderson) finish first, Dollarwatchcrosing second and Random Passage third. The payout across the board for the winner was $10.80, $4.50 and $6.00.
Race #4 was the Sunflower Derby, a 5 1/2 furlong contest where Digger Of Diamonds took first followed by Slewšs Alibi and Southern Macho.
The Luke Gibson Memorial, Race #5, was a 7 furlong race.
Hunting For Action finished first with A Step Beyond second and Yesterdays Jade third. Payouts included a Triactor worth $228.80.
Race #6 was the Bob Beale Memorial Tulameen Cup and was about 7 furlongs in length.
Just For Deb crossed the finish line ahead of Wild Caribe and Prineville. The Quinella paid $38.40, the Exactor was worth $38.30 and Triactor was $107.80.
The feature race, the Similkameen Cup with a $10,000 added purse was a spectacular race. Farewell Cowboys virtually led the 1 1/6 mile race from the starting gate with River Run second and Golden Niblet third.
The winner paid out $9.20, $4.30 and $2.40 across the board with the Quinella at $20.60, Exactor $31.50 and Triactor worth $86.20.
