The MAC LIND LOGGING PEEWEES WIN "B" BANNER

John Fulton of Nanaimo perfecting his jumps Saturday morning On March 18th the Mac Lind Logging Peewees played Westside for the "B" banner. This was a hard fought battle to the end.

Westside came out flying, scoring two quick goals, which caught young net minder Clint Cook off guard. This seemed to wake Princeton up. Bryce Markin came back to score a goal before the end of the first period.

The defence Vian Maritz, Ian McKenzie, Joel McDonald, Milen Wilkenson, and Fletcher Reichert stepped up their game stopping numerous odd man rushes to keep their team in the game.

Bryce Markin scored his second goal of the game 5 minutes into the second period. Princeton found themselves in trouble with penalties, which cost them two goals, giving Westside a 2 goal lead in the third.

Princeton did not give up as once again Bryce put on a clinic with his line mate Colton Williams. Bryce scored his third goal of the game.

This seemed to renew the team's hope, which saw Taylor Esselink, McKenzie Guardiero, Keaton Ashley, Justin Milligan, Jonas Montgomery, tenacious fore check finally which started to keep the Westside team at bay.

Jared Fenrick then came out on a line with Bryce and Colton to slip the tying goal past the goalie with 7 minutes remaining. Hitting the 2 minute mark in the third, and looking like we were heading into over time once again the forward line of Colton, Bryce, and Jared proved to be too much as Colton scored his first goal of the game from a nice pass from Bryce to give them the lead.

With 2 minutes remaining Princeton knew all they had to do was prevent Westside from scoring. Clint making some key saves Princeton went on to win the "B" BANNER".

One team member could not be there for this game and her contribution to the team was missed, Kiel Libertore even though you weren't here for this game you helped the team get to where they are now. From the parents and the coaches GREAT TEAM EFFORT, Congratulations on your win!

Also the weekend of March 13th Princeton traveled to Clearwater for a tournament. They played their last game against a very strong Clearwater team for first place. Unfortunately they did not have one of their better games. Although they lost, they took second place and should be proud of where they finished.

Great season team. Have a great summer and see you next year!
