CENTENNIAL POOL OPENS THIS WEEK
Summer must be around the corner as Centennial Pool will officially open for the season later this week.Registration for Red Cross Swim Lessons will begin after school on May 24th at the pool with the facility opening for regular use at 7:00 PM on Friday, May 27th.
Swim Session dates have been established for Red Cross Swim Lessons.
Spring after school Session A will run from June 6th to 17th with Session B from June 20th to 30th.
The Summer morning Sessions are as follows:
Session C, July 4th -15th
Session D, July 18 - 29
Session E, August 2 - 12
Session F, August 15 - 26
Session G, August 29 - September 4 (catch-up set).
There are also a full season of special pool events including fun days and activities.
Friday Night Loonie Swim will take place throughout the Summer from 7:00 - 8:30 PM Fridays.
School's Out Loonie Swim will be 1:00 - 3:00 PM June 30th.
Canada Day Red, White and True is set for July 1st and will feature a free swim from 2:00 - 4:00 PM.
Wild, Wet and Wacky Wednesdays will run each Wednesday in July and August from 2:00 - 4:00 PM.
Theme Nights are $5.00 to enter and will include games, food and prizes. A total of four theme nights have been scheduled.
Fear Factor will be July 6th from 7:00 - 9:00 PM where participants can test their skills and brawn.
Mexican Fiesta Night is set for July 20th from 7:00 - 9:00 PM.
Hip Hop Night is August 3rd from 7:00 - 9:00 PM and will feature a Lip Sync and Talent Contest.
Christmas In August will take place on August 24th from 7:00 - 9:00 PM and will include a Mystery Guest.
Food Hamper Night will be August 31st from 7:00 - 8:30 PM. Free admission with two non-perishable food items.
Weyerhaeuser has sponsored a number of Free Swims again this year.
They will be Wednesday nights from 7:00 - 8:30 PM on June 8th and 29th, July 27th, August 10th and 26th. Also Sunday afternoons from 2:00 - 4:00 PM on May 29th, June 19th, July 3rd and 17th and August 14th.

If you've never been to the pool, it is located in Memorial Park near the Similkameen River, beside the tennis courts.
The pool was built as a Centennial project in 1967. The heated outdoor pool has supplied residents and visitors hours of leisure swimming as well as Red Cross Swim Lessons and Life Saving Society programs.
The pool is also home to the Kokanee Summer Swim Club.
All Lifeguards, Instructors and Coaches are certified and highly trained and provide a fun and safe environment for all the enjoy.
