INJURED POSSE WINS AGAINST REVELSTOKE
With a roster riddled with injuries, the Posse played a pretty good game last Saturday night against Revelstoke.
The first period was a little sloppy on both sides with many missed scoring opportunities and some great hits.
Princeton scored first at 3:17 when Stu Purves slapped one in from in front of the net off a pass from the corner from Chad Hohmann. Micah Anderson also received a credit for the goal.
Revelstoke responded with only .06 seconds in the period to tie the game. Shots on goal were also tied at ten each.
The second period could have been called 'Flying Elbows' as that seemed to be the mood on ice for both teams.
Princeton scored their second goal at 9:12 (David Wyman, Jeremy Wagner) and added their third goal at 10:53 with Stu Purves slapping one in on the power play from the blue line. Hohmann and and Zach Big Swan got the assists.
Revelstoke got their second goal at 14:06 and the period ended with Princeton leading 3-2.
The third period was the fastest of the game with intense action throughout most of it. Princeton added goal #4 at 7:33, a power play score by David Wyman with help from Brad Davis and Big Swan.
Revelstoke added a wrap around goal from behind the net at 9:38 but could not get any closer after pulling their goalie for an extra man with 1:11 left to play.
Final score: Princeton 4, Revelstoke 3.
SOCCER TEAM WINS FINAL GAME
On Saturday, October 29th in Osoyoos Princeton Rebels Soccer team finished out the season with a win.The team played a strong game against Logan Lake. Scoring for Princeton were Kyle Markin, Lewis Smith and Brian Shewchuk. Michael Bedard and his defensive line Kevin ³Pedro² Alvarenga, Russ Tjernstrom and Paul Houben worked hard to keep Princeton in the game.
Jerrid Lay played a strong game in goal. Blaine Lueke did a good job filling in for injured Marcel Lamoureaux as a forward.
At the end of two halves of play the score was tied at 3. After two 10-minute overtimes the score was still tied and the game moved into a shootout.
Scoring for Princeton in the shootout for the win were Blake Tarswell, Lewis Smith and Peter Newman.
In the last few years Princeton boys soccer has staged a comeback. Three seasons ago Ernie Tribe as coach built a base for Princeton soccer. David Pattison, one of Coach Tribe's players, took over and has coached the last two seasons.
Over the last few years, Princeton has gained a reputation of fielding a competitive Boys Soccer Team. This year again Princeton made the Valleys.
